Praying for America, and You’re Invited

Sunday promises to be a very special day at Lebanon Road, and I want to take a moment to invite you to be with us. Even if you cannot be with us in person, you can always get our sermons on our podcast feed. [Click this link for the feed to add to iTunes or your “podcatcher of choice.”]

On Sunday morning, I am planning a sermon called “The Christian Voting Guide.” No, it is not a “vote for this guy instead of that guy” sermon. In fact, I may just offend every person in the room at some point during the lesson, though that is not my intent. I have spent a long time praying about and preparing this lesson, though it is quite simple in its content. I pray that it encourages all of us to consider voting through Christ-like eyes.

Then, on Sunday night, Lebanon Road has planned a very special prayer service. Again, this service is not meant to be partisan in any form or fashion. The men who will lead us in prayer will pray about specific areas, and will pray for all the candidates and their families as these people go through what must be an intensely stressful time. One of our other men and myself will provide short “speeches” between each prayer to focus our minds on the next area we will be praying about. While this will be a simple format, I think it will encourage us all–no matter who we might vote for–to place the entire process in the hands of God.

If you are nearby, I hope you will be with us for one or both of these services. We meet at 9AM on Sunday morning, and 6PM on Sunday night, and we would love to have you be with us.
