Frustrating!
It happens every week, like clockwork. Not to be a negative person, but I can almost guarantee it will happen again in a few days.
As a Christian, it hurts. As a dad, it is frustrating.
It happens each time we drive back into our neighborhood after worship and Bible classes. What makes it so frustrating? It’s seeing nearly every other driveway with the cars still sitting there. Some kids are riding bikes or playing in their yards. A few folks are out exercising, walking their dogs, or working in the yard.
We have just come from a great, uplifting few minutes spent glorifying God and being encouraged by our brothers and sisters, and then we drive home to the realization of how few are doing the same thing. Some we have invited to worship (a few multiple times), but they have yet to come. Others, quite obviously, do not care a bit about the things of God.
Why share this post? We nearly always post uplifting, encouraging articles. So why this?
To encourage you to keep going!
You are doing something that is far more important–in fact, eternally more important–than these others. You are honoring God and spending time with others who love Him. You are teaching your children to make small sacrifices for something that is far more important than themselves. You are building into their lives and they won’t forget it.
Yes, it is frustrating. I’ll be the first to admit it. But keep going…
…and keep inviting. Your actions and your asking are making a difference, whether you ever really see it or not.
