How Christians Can Destroy Traditional Marriage Without Supporting Gay Marriage
Yesterday, we looked at how some of the language used by those in favor of gay marriage betrays at least part of their agenda. However, gay marriage is not the only issue we need to consider. And those who support homosexual marriage are not the only people we need to think about, either. It is possible that Christians can (and, in part, have) led us to this point in our nation. Now, before you get too angry, take a look at the title of this post again. I am not saying that you support gay marriage. I would venture to say that 90% of our regular readers (if not nearly…

An Open Letter to the United States Supreme Court
Your Honors, I may not be a person of great influence, but I understand that, if I do not use what influence I have, I am squandering a great gift. So, though I wonder if you will ever see this letter, I am going to write it anyway in the hopes that it comes across your screen or desk in some way. It turns out that no political party is our Savior. Shocking, I know. It is a document that is calling for the Supreme Court to strike down the well-known “Prop 8” from California. This is the same proposition that was voted on by California voters, banning same-sex marriages in that state. Somehow, even though the people voted for this ban,…

Friday Links Roundup: Great Young People Edition
I love young people. For just under 9 years, I served as a youth minister, the last (nearly) 7 years in Haleyville, Alabama. One reason we were so glad to come to Lebanon Road is that, even though I’m not the youth minister, I can still be around the young people here and help at camp and in other areas. Last night was the final Summer Youth Series in this area for 2010. Lebanon Road hosted one of these about 2 months ago, and last night I went over to the Mount Juliet church of Christ for the final one of the year. The announced attendance was 480, and there…
