3 Reasons I’m Thankful for Cicadas
Cicadas are everywhere in Nashville. In fact, we are being warned about being outside too long because there are so many that the noise is harmful to our hearing. I’ll say it: they are annoying! It was somewhat cute for a day or two, but, after a couple of weeks (with a couple more to go), it’s getting old to hear them and have them swarm you at every turn. “We’re Doing What Christians Do”
After the flooding hit Nashville, and the amount of devastation started to grow, we all asked, “What are we going to do?” Our members continually were asking that question. Several times, I gave the answer, “We’re going to do what Christians do.” By that, I meant that, while we aren’t sure of every single action we were going to take, the Lebanon Road church of Christ was going to respond with the light of Jesus Christ. Some Notes on the Nashville Flood
By now, you have read and seen many reports on the flooding in and around Nashville. This weekend’s rains have completely changed many parts of the city and have left several well-known landmarks, such as the Grand Ole Opry, in several feet of water. About 20 have been confirmed dead as a result of the flooding and some workers fear that number could rise as the waters recede. Over the past hours, I have seen the outpouring of love and kindness that lets me know what good people have in them. Countless people have volunteered to help, while others are helping in a financial way. And only the Lord knows…
